That appears to be a military censored cover, is that correct? Edit: typo |

I believe so, though I am no expert on the topic. The only backstamp is a repeat of the front and it translates as Opened (by, with, under) the Military Authority. The central letters are clearer on the backstamp and are WB350. The date is well after the Declaration of War in September of 1939 but before the Invasion of France in May of 1940. |

It struck me that this thread would be worth watching for covers that were sent on your birthday or the birthday of your mother, father, wife, girlfriend or whatever. A great way to market stamp cancels. |

My contribution for 31 January. Something different, for me anyway The letter must have been heavier than the sender thought. |

Bfranton, Great Official Mail cover on the 27th! Rolla MO is a route 66 town. Any idea on the year it was canceled? |

I'll look for the Rolla envelope, which I scanned some time ago. I will promise to put it up for auction since I'm probably not going there in terms of collection. Meanwhile back to topic: Feb 1 For Feb 2 |

Still a few hours early for February 2nd, but don't forget the US postal stationery! Here's a modern example from the US Bicentennial: |

Sorry I don't have a cover for February 3rd. However, even though this is not a cover ... and not even a stamp ... I'll post it just as a piece of nostaglia, as this meter imprint has long gone away ... and is, in fact, 70 years old today! Not too many left, I would imagine, as it was not a piece that most collectors would have bothered with: |
