I believe that 'Sverige' is Sweden, but I cannot locate these stamps in the Scott catalogue! What does 'ISO' mean? They look CTO and do not look like any other Swedish stamp. Are they cinderella's?

This is a cinderella stamp (a stamp not issued by a national authority). As to value, I do not have any idea. |

Hi smauggie: I can believe that this is a non-authorized issue. But how can they get away with issuing stamps with a country name on them? In this case - Sverige (Sweden).
I am sure that if I designed and printed stamps with USA or Canada on them then the authorities would quickly get me! |

Good question stamporator. A clue lies in the fact that most ISO cinderellas have text in English on them. This suggests they are made in an English-speaking country or by English speakers. If printed outside of Sweden, they may not be breaking local laws. |

The folks who printed some of these stamps are the same who printed the later Staffa and many other bogus "countries" stamps. |

This is amazing. I have several Winston Churchill themed stamps and covers, in one case, the covers are cancelled with Iso Svierge on them. As I have some doubles, I was planning to sell on eBay, which is why I'm researching. Would I be breaking some rules by selling one of these? Although I've collected most of my life, I don't know most of the formal terms and rules, so I want to be careful when selling to someone else. Thanks in advance for your help, and for these forums, which are terrific! |

paulchappel, ion eBay - if you indicate in the item description what they are and the fact that they are cinderellas, you are safe. |

I put a value of two cents each on them . Most Cinderella stamp collectors concider them wallpaper . Cinderella collectors will hold on to them and save them but to spend money for them ,not a chance . These stamps are acquired in junk boxes or in bulk lots. We have a huge variety of worthless Cinderella stamps that float around the hobby much like that huge pile of trash in the Pacific Ocean .This stuff floats around auction houses in their end of auction lots and shows up in mixture boxes .It serves it purpose in those lots on eBay where someone whats 1,000 stamps for $10.00 or something like a 1/2 lb of stamps for $15.00 ,so yes their is a reason they are out there . |

IMO these are not cinderellas, but just "bogus stamps" whose only aim is to plunder someone's money. Cinderellas or Poster Stamps, serve an honest goal, that is either to advertise something or to raise funds for charity or organisations. I'm a serious poster stamps and cinderellas collector, but I want nothing to do with bogus stamps. |

Thank you very much NSK ! Being a cinderella collector for years, nice to see it addressed somewhere. I had traced ISO to it's native geography, but that's all.
