As Meister Nadelöhr ("Master Bottleneck"), East German actor Eckart Friedrichson (1930-1976) hosted Zu Besuch im Märchenland ("Visiting in Wonderland"), a popular children's television show in East Germany which premiered in 1955 and ran for two decades. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Meister Nadelöhr sitting on a rooftop by a TV antenna, designed by German illustrator Werner Klemke (1917-1994), printed by lithography, and issued by Germany (DDR) on June 1, 1964 for Children's Day, Scott No. 699, Michel No. 1026, plus an image of an autographed publicity photo of Eckart Friedrichson in costume, and a YouTube link to a video of various scenes from the TV show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nrx0hyVfbQg

Happy Birthday to Curt Goetz (1888-1960), a Swiss-German writer, actor and film director famous for his comedies, in some of which Goetz and his wife Valérie von Martens also acted. Here is an image of a stamp honoring Curt Goetz, designed by Austrian artist Auguste Böcskör, combined engraved by Wolfgang Seidel and photogravure, and issued by Liechtenstein on March 12, 1984, Scott No. 778, plus a photo of Curt Goetz, and a YouTube link to a short video with stills from Goetz's first film, a satire entitled Napoleon ist an allem schuld ("Napoleon is to blame for everything," 1938), which so displeased Nazi Reich Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels that the film was banned in Germany. In 1939 Goetz and his wife fled Europe and resided safely in California for the duration of the war.

Happy Birthday to English comic actor and filmmaker Sir Charles Spencer "Charlie" Chaplin, KBE (1889-1977). Here are images of a first day cover and of a stamp featuring a portrait of Chaplin as his signature character, "The Little Tramp," designed by American illustrator Dennis Lyall (1946- ), printed by lithography, and issued by the USA on February 3, 1998 as one of the 15 stamps in the 1910s "Celebrate the Century" pane, Scott No. 3183a, plus a publicity photograph of Charlie Chaplin.

Pola Negri (born Barbara Apolonia Chalupiec, 1897-1987) was a Polish stage and film actress, singer and ballerina who achieved worldwide fame during the silent and golden eras of Hollywood and European film, often playing a femme fatale. She made headlines and gossip columns with a string of celebrity love affairs, most notably with film stars Charlie Chaplin, Rod La Rocque, and Rudolph Valentino. Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Negri, designed by Polish artist Andrzej Gosik, printed by photogravure, and issued by Poland on April 30, 1996 as a EUROPA stamp, Scott No. 3290, plus an image of a publicity photo of Pola Negri, and a link to a YouTube video tribute to her film career.

Sir Alec Guinness (1914 - 2000) is best know for his role of Lieutenant Colonel Nicholson in the film The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957).
Kenneth More (1914 - 1982) is best known for his role of Captain Jonathan Shepard in the film Sink the Bismarck! (1960).

One of the stamps portrays the iconic American science fiction film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), starring E.T. (created by Carlo Rambaldi) and Henry Thomas (Elliott).
