A hibernating brown long-eared bat is depicted on this British computer-vended ("post and go") stamp.

The brown long-eared bat (Plecotus auritus) is an Eurasian species found in temperate climates, including the U.K. According to Wikipedia, "Prey is probably detected by sight and sound using the large eyes and ears, not by echolocation."

In 1994, Lithuania issued a set of two, 20ct stamps depicting small, indigenous mammals. One of these (SC. #501) is the common noctula bat (Nyctalus noctula).

From Wikipedia, "The species forages with a rapid flying speed of 20-40 km/hour, sometimes up to 60 km/hour...The common noctula is a migrating species with female bias: the males do not migrate."
