3 Color Variations - 13 Cent Valley Forge Christmas

I don't know much about color variations, but have a look at the photo (my scan doesn't seem to be very good..hmm)

The first one is the correct color, but notice the color differences in the next 2.

Were these caused by the stamp being soaked off of the paper or were they printed this way?

The 2nd one, his clothes are much greener, and the 3rd one his coat is blue...

Any info would be great.

Have you checked the Scott catalog to see if they list color variants in there? Stamp 2 looks faded overall compared to stamp 1. Perhaps some ink was lost in soaking, as you suggested.

Scott Specialized makes no reference as to any color varieties for these stamps. I also checked my used copies and they do show some very minor color shades but most appear similar to the middle example in your scan. I would say that the most likely culprit is that the lost some of their color intensity during the soaking process.
