Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis), printed by photogravure, and issued by Bulgaria on June 19, 1961, Scott No. 1166. Note the misspelling of the animal's scientific name on this stamp, using "F's" in place of "PH's."

While on a trip to Vancouver last summer my wife and I saw a ballena jorobada while whale watching. In English a Humpback Whale.

We don't always treat our ocean mammal friends so nice.
A classic 'Moby Dick' style scene.

Nells250 - Agreed! But I wouldn't wish to repeat your comment to the woman's face.

Here are images of the four semi-postal stamps in a set depicting a cartoonish whale and also natives harpooning a more realistic whale, designed by Spanish artists J. Olcinda and J. de Castro, printed by photogravure, and issued for use in the Spanish colony of Fernando Po[o] on December 29, 1960 for Stamp Day, Scott Nos. B3-6.
