I love seeing different costumes especially from Asia. I wonder if anyone else has a few lying around they'd like to share here? So far I've only scanned in one but I plan on quite a few more as I go through my Japan kiloware. Scott #2092 Kabuki Series – Yaegakihime, Japan 1991 Honoring the ancient tradition of kabuki theater, a beautiful Japanese heritage. Yaegakihime tells the story of war, politics and undying love. Princess Yaegakihime is saved from the grief of losing her beloved fiance by the news that he's still alive. Sneaking in to the palace in disguise they manag to steal away with the help of a magical helmet. In the end justice wins and the lovers are able to marry and live happily ever after.  |

I had almost forgot about this thread! So good to see someone else use it and a most wonderful example at that!
We're getting ready to move in the next few weeks so it's given me time to sort through my on paper. I've found quite a number of nice things to share, especially from Japan. |

I have all three of these definitive sets ... the 1972, 73, and this one is the 74 version. I don't think they are particularly attractive stamps .. but the Greeks must have liked them.  |

The Wolof are an ethnic group found in Senegal, Gambia, and Mauritania. Here is an image of a stamp depicting a Wolof woman in traditional garb, engraved and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., Ltd., and issued for use in the former British colony of Gambia on November 2, 1953, Scott No. 155. Note: On this stamp the alternative English spelling "Wollof" is used, as it refers to the anglophone Gambian Wolof. - nethryk  |
