Doll and other toys for "Saint Nicholas Day," a semi-postal (charity) stamp designed by Auguste Nicolas Trémont (1892-1980), printed by photogravure (Courvoisier, S.A.), and issued by Luxembourg on December 5, 1955 as one of a set of six stamps benefiting the National Welfare Fund, Scott No. B189.

Set of 15; one stamp depicts Cabbage Patch Kids.
The Cabbage Patch Kids are all-cloth dolls originally sold at local craft shows. The concept went on to be one of the popular toy fads of the 1980s and one of the longest-running doll franchises in the United States.

Naruko kokeshi doll and view of scenic Naruko-kyo Gorge, Miyagi Prefecture, printed by photogravure, and issued by Japan on June 20, 1972, Scott No. 1117, plus an image of a photo a traditional kokeshi doll, handmade from wood with a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. Bonus: Bridge.
