Before Aussie Annette Kellermann flaunted authority and got herself arrested in Revere Beach, Massachusetts (1907) by wearing her now-famous "one piece", women were expected to were swimming suits called pantaloons. Ms. Kellermann won in the long run, and we now view the early swimwear with more than a little humor.

This card is titled "Humor from the Family Bath in Zoppot (Danzig)". The artist's signature "Arth. Thiel" is at lower right of illustration. Card was mailed from Berlin, Germany to Columbus, Ohio. Postmark date is 28th of September, 1909.

Does anyone else have postcards depicting pantaloons, and other early swimwear?

Perhaps Australia will honor Annette Kellermann with her own stamp someday.

I got this postcard for a dollar at WESTPEX a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, it's not postally used, but I assume from the inscription on the back that the sender would have deemed it too risqué to send through the mail.

Well we all must thank Annette Kellermann for being able to wear whatever we want to wear on beach which one can buy from online stores nowadays like https://www.dollboxx.com.au/ and many others. I got this picture of a postcard but have no details about it.
