Here is an image of a postage due stamp depicting the coat of arms of Réunion, an insular region of France located in the Indian Ocean, designed by C. Abadie, engraved and printed by the Institut de Gravure, and issued for use in Réunion on September 11, 1933 as one of a set of ten similar stamps, Scott No. J16, plus an image of a full-color version of the coat of arms of Réunion. Notes: Réunion's coat of arms was created in 1925 by colonial administrator Émile Merwart (1869-1960); the official motto of the island, Florebo quocumque ferar ("I will flourish wherever I will be brought"), was originally the motto of the French East India Company; and the upper left field of the shield shows the Roman numeral 'MMM' (3000) indicating the approximate height of the Piton des Neiges, which is 3069 meters. - nethryk |

nethryk, that stamp from Spain showing the coat of arms of Burgos is amazing and so beautiful. The engraver has done a marvellous work with so much detail, that the individual figures are seen so clearly. Thanks for sharing. |
