This old letter seal of the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce Administration bears the coat of arms of the Prince of Liechtenstein. The inclusion of the inscription "Jaegerndorf and Troppau" seems a little confusing, since the Prince does not rule over Czech lands. This is purely ceremonial. Since 1620, "The heads of the Princely Family of Liechtenstein bear the title Duke of Troppau and Jaegerndorf (Wikipedia)." Also from Wikipedia, "The Arms of Liechtenstein are the armorial bearings of the Prince of Liechtenstein...As the sovereign emblem of the Prince, its use is restricted to the Prince and members of his House, though private individuals are permitted to use the arms in the interest of the state." |

Great presentation Roberto59! Coats of arms is a big topic, and many countries are printing these stamps now. Here are some old municipal coats of arms from Germany's old province of East Prussia. These Cinderellas were produced for the Kaffee Hag Company, which produced and sold decaffeinated coffee. A customer received a label with their container of coffee grounds. I am guessing that they had to buy the album(s) from the Company. These labels were printed by typography, and descriptions of the coat of arms were printed on top of the gum, on the gum side. Unfortunately, almost all of these labels were licked or pasted into albums, so that the descriptions are lost. Labels shown are Bartenstein (now Bartoszyce, Poland), Heilsberg ( Lidzbark Warm., Poland), and Hohenstein (Olsztynek, Poland). The back of the Insterburg (Tschernjachowsk, Russia) label is also shown. From Wikipedia, "The company was founded in Bremen in 1906...The founder was Ludwig Roselius, who co-developed the first commercial decaffeination process...In the 1920's and 1930's the company was known for the publication of the Coffee Hag Albums of heraldic emblems...General Foods acquired the original German company in 1979." |

Nice stamps Roberto! The Viljandi stamps are interesting because the selvedge on the left and right of the sheet has different views of the town. So, you could get 10 stamps with different "picture" tab (5 on left and 5 on right). I don't have any of these. Here is the Sindi stamp you showed on a piece of philatelic mail. The sender left the stamps on their backing to make a nice cover. |

Here are two recent stamps from Latvia featuring municipal coats of arms. The Alsungas stamp was issued in 2016, and the Tukuma stamp is from 2019. Alsungas is a small village in the western Courland region. Tukuma is a larger town (pop. 28000) in the central Zemgale region. |
