It appears to me, only South Australia used "Squared Circle" cancelling hammers. Due to the size of the stamps of the period, full cancels are extremely scarce. 1d Kangaroo (Mutilated) Lettercard (grey Black) Postmark : FARRELLS FLAT South Australia Die 1, (identified by Left inner frame break , above "O" of One, and shading line break below "Y" of Penny) Quantity 13,008,888 Lettercards in 21 colours FARRELLS FLAT renamed FARRELL FLAT 26th July 1940 Farrell Flat Post Office today |

Goodness me ! Thank you very much. I'll send to the webmaster, and see if they are aware of any Post Office pics etc. I believe Karuah? was 20km from the Ned Kelly saga I'll have to check.Timber was transported from the mill by light rail (timber tramway) to town of The Branch which was a similar size to Simsville. River steamers berthed at The Branch and carried the timber to Port Stephens and beyond. "The Branch" entymology, perhaps due to the fork in the local roads, thoroughfares. The The Branch River in east New South Wales starts below Girvan at an elevation of 61.1m and ends merging with the Karuah River. The The Branch River drops around 62m over its 27.2km length. The following creeks and rivers flow into the The Branch River: Blue Gum Creek, Little Branch Creek, Kelly Creek, Boomerang Creek and Lewis Creek. |

Australia Post suspends sea mail amid rise in prohibited itemshttps://www.9news.com.au/national/a...be7ca59338efAn Australia Post spokesperson told The Guardian that they are in the "process of reviewing its sea mail capacity". "Australia Post is still processing sea mail containers in transit at the time the suspension was announced, and there remains no impact to mail items being sent by air to Australia or items being sent by sea from Australia," the spokesperson said. "The increase in sea mail volume was a direct result of Covid air restrictions and decreased aircraft capacity." |
