Fruits in Slovenia - Cherry (Prunus Avium L.) (2000)

- The cherry has beautiful medium-sized white blossoms. Blossoms are bisexual consisting of 5 petals and 5 sepals. The pistil is encircled by 15 to 30 stamens.
- The European cherry fruit fly or cherry maggot (Rhagoletis cerasi L.) causes the greatest damage on medium late to late cherry varieties.
- A new Slovenian sweet cherry variety - Vigred, produced by hybridization. The tree is medium vigorous, wide spreading with large leaves and blossoms. The fruit is of large size averaging 8.5 grams. The skin is glossy red to brown red.
- Starling will eat all cherries!

Fruits in Slovenia - Peach (Prunus persica L.) (2001)

- The peach tree blossoms are medium to large in size, red or rosy in colour. The peach is self-fertile tree. Most peach blossoms are pollinated by bees.
- Redhaven is Slovenia's most widely planted peach. It is very cold-hardy and bears heavy crops. The fruit is medium in size with yellowish red colour and nearly fuzzless.
- Green peach aphids (Myzus persicae) are 2 mm long and olive or yellowish-green in colour. Young aphids emerge at the end of February or in the beginning of March and can cause serious damage to the developing buds
- A glass of apricot jam.

Fruits in Slovenia - The Williams Pear - 2004

- The pear blossoms are borne in inflorescences of 6 to 8 flowers each and because of low sugar content are not very attractive to honeybees.
- Pear Psylla (Cacopsylla pyricola) is the most serious insect pest of pears. Damage is caused by nymphs that develop primarily on tender new growth and feed by sucking sap from the developing buds, leaves and shoots.
- The Williams Pear was discovered originally around 1770 by a schoolmaster from Aldermaston in England named Mr. Stair, the variety was further developed by Richard Williams, who introduced it to England as Williams` Bon Chretien (Williams` good Christian #8211; shortened to Williams Pear).
- It is believed that the hedgehog put pear on his back and carried away in the lair.

Fruits in Slovenia - Olive - 2003
 - Olive tree produces clusters of 10 to 25 small white flowers. Depending on the variety and climate conditions, olives bloom from mid-May to mid-June.
- The olive fruit fly (Bactrocera oleae Gmel.) is considered the most damaging pest of olives. It has the potential to damage up to 100 percent of an olive crop.
- Olive (Olea europaea L.) is one of the oldest cultivated fruits. On stamp is Istrska belica (an olive variety).
- Olive oil amphora was used to transport olive oil by old Romans.

Fruits in Slovenia - Bilberry - 2002
 - The bell-shaped flowers are snow-white in colour.
- The Winter Moth (Operophthera brumata L.) is a serious pest, causing considerable damage to both the commercial high bush blueberry plantings as well as to the wild stands of native plants.
- Preferring acid soils, bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) is an under-shrub common in woodland throughout most of Slovenia, though it can also be found as a monoculture on the mountain pastures.
- Does Fox eat berries?
