"Philatelists Just Wanna Have Fun" according to a 28 April 1995 NYT article on a pair of stamps supposedly issued by Abkhazia.

An American marketing firm associated with Abkhazia, the rebellious Caucasus region in the northwest of Georgia and Officials in the breakaway region, or perhaps opportunistic printing companies acting like Abkhazians, 'issued' a colorful miniature sheet of two stamps picturing Marx (but not that Marx) and Lenin (though this one spells it differently).

Mr. Tilson's marketing company, the International Collectors Society, priced the miniature sheet at $12.72, including postage. The face value of the stamps, however, is 500 rubles each, a total of less than a dollar.

The stamps are not recognized by the Universal Postal Union and thus are not valid for postage anywhere outside Abkhazia (nor perhaps even inside Abkhazia). They are considered illegal stamps issued by "opportunistic printing companies acting like Abkhazians"

These stamps, issued as a pair – a play on Marx–Lenin – do not appear in catalogues of Abkhazian stamps.

You too, can have some Philatelic fun with this Cinderella if you can give me the best explanation of how it would enhance your collection.

I will ship it free to anywhere in the USA.

I will announce the lucky winner on 1 Feb, if there are any responses. Good luck and enjoy!
