I was thumbing through my postcard album today and started to notice a pattern. I don't know whether I just unconsciously picked these up over time, but there was definitely an ongoing theme in early cards showing prosperity and plenty. This was found most often in Western postcards featuring ranching and agriculture. I give you...

Many cows

Many flour bags

Many salmon

Many grapes

Many logs in a river

Many logs in a pile

Many ostriches

Many pigeons

Many sheep

Now if you would just have "many money" you'd be all set! Nice collection though,

Peter

Here are two more "many things" cards, Hops & prunes. Actually, it's plums, before they are dried into prunes.

Too many prunes can lead to the hops, I hear.

I found one more: Many cowboys riding horses!

Yes, I know -- especially the sturgeon. Fish that big are now illegal to catch; the maximum size is now 54". And all those icebergs are most certainly melted, along with much of Muir Glacier.
