I do love looking at world postal stationary, especially the earlier antique postal cards.

Basutoland 1948 uprated registered letter postal stationery.

A letter probably containing schooling fees from Pitseng to Morija. In the production of postmark for Morija, an error happened resulting in the Mopija postmark.

In 1842, a prison was established in British Guiana, approximately 46 miles up the Essequibo River, near the confluence of the Cuyuni and Mazaruni rivers. The complex can only be accessed by water, which historically contributed to its isolation and security. The facility is still functioning to this day.

This two-cent postal stationery envelope was mailed from the prison's post office.

Notice that neither the G in the town name nor the country name made an impression resembling the letter G.

This postal card from the Virgin Islands was dispatched from Virgin Gorda on the Wednesday. It arrived in Road Town the following morning. From there it was sent to England.

Question about a recent purchase. Here is an 1895 Italian postal card commemorating the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Rome. My question -- which is the side for the address? Typically it would go on the same side as the stamp imprint, but this looks like the illustrated side is intended for the address.

The word 'A' means 'To.' So, that is the space for the details of the recipient.
