Iceland 2013 - 2015 Tourism Hafursey: This is an inselberg in Southern Iceland made of palagonite, an alteration product from the interaction between seawater and volcanic glass. Sjalfberg Rock: This dramatic basalt outcrop is part of the rugged volcanic landscapes along the Strandir Coast. Gatastakkur: This basalt arch at Raudanes peninsula was formed by wave erosion.    |

Iceland 1986 Nature Conservation The stamp depicts Jokulsa a Fjollum River Canyon in Jokulsarglufur National Park. Huge floods in the glacial Jökulsá á Fjöllum River cut through the basalt plateau to create the canyon.  Iceland 1989 Landscapes The stamp depicts Skeggi at Arnarfjör, a rugged mountain eroded from hardened volcanic tuff.  |

Norway 1978 Landscapes Lenangstindene and Jaegervastindene (Troms): These mountains are Precambrian metamorphic rocks carved by glaciers. Gaustatoppen (Telemark): This mountain is one of the isolated granite peaks left from erosion during recent glaciation.   |

Denmark 1962 Nature monuments The stamp depicts white chalk cliffs on the island of Møn. The chalk forming the cliffs consists of the remains of microscopic creatures which lived during Late Cretaceous.  Denmark 2020 UNESCO World Heritage Sites Stevns Klint is a white chalk cliff located along the coast on the Danish island of Zealand. It is one of the best exposed Cretaceous-Tertiary (K/T) boundaries in the world with exceptional fossil record.  |
