I am happy the seller of the stamps in the start of the thread rejected my low ball offer.
I now received a copy of the "Unified Specialized Catalog Volume 5, Edifil Madrid 2011, pages 71-77" on all Military Franchise issues.
All the stamps shown in the start of the thread sell between Euro 0.60 and Euro 1.10. This made my lowball offer still 2 times the catalog value. Melilla Military Franchise stamps are offered on
eBay between $1 and $15 per stamps, so the sellers clearly do not know or do not care about the catalog values. However I was able in the past weeks to secure 100 stamps from 6 different sellers located all in Spain for just over catalog value.
This low price makes it fun to collect these stamps and study the history around those stamps.
There are arguments that the issue of these stamps was never properly authorized with some claiming it are bogus stamps. However Edifil lists them without any note about bogus possibility. If you go to the beginning of this thread to the post of 22crows, there is a lot of info on these stamps including real fake stamps (fakes of bogus stamps?) of the first series and fake cancellations.
I did not yet receive all the stamps I bought but below is the first of the 8 pages write up I am making on those stamps.
