We noted in the release that the StampStore move to HipStamp would happen on 1 October 2022. Right now, the project is still on track.

Scott,

Would you mind addressing a question I asked previously:

Quote:
It will be interesting to see if these current features of the existing APS store carry through to the Hipstamp implementation:

1. The ability to select APEX expertization for individual items from within the cart as part of checkout.

2. The ability to pay partially or fully for a transaction from your account balance on file with the APS (funds from selling stamps through the APS).

While I didn't address the question to you specifically before, I believe these are important features to retain.

Apologies, I missed your questions before.

1. You will be able to request an APEX certificate for items purchased through StampStore.
2. At present, you will not be able to use your APS account for StampStore purchases. These are technical limitations on our site. If we're able to resolve it, we will make it available.

There are hopes, there are dreams and then there is reality. The longer the lead time the greater the chance reality can force some changes.

It is good to hear the conversion remains on track.

I am trying to find the APS StampStore on Hip but cannot. Is it there and if so how do you locate it?

It is there, "APS Stamp Store", but only populated with a limited number of dummy listings.

An issue with one of the reports. The developers have identified the issue and we should go live by the end of the week.

Still not "UP" except for "test" items - any word on progress and what is the holdup?

A question for Scott,

HIPstamp sellers bombard customers with a never ending stream of eADDS most of which are generic sent to a mass audience. Will APS customers be shielded from this barrage of marketing spam? Did the APS give HIPstamp its membership list with their interests and contact information as a part of the deal?

If the APS can negotiate exemption for its members from the enormous flood of Hipstamp spam, I think that would be a very effective recruitment tool.

Scott has previously posted that there will no data exchanged between APS and HS. I am unsure how Scott defines 'shared data' but it seems to me that HS will be able to at least harvest APS Stamp Store transactional data. Assuming that HS is handing the transactions on their servers and in their database(s), that would give HS access to;
- APS Stamp Store sales totals
- APS Stamp Store sales info such as which stamp categories are the best and worst sellers
- APS Stamp Store sales info such as average price of transactions
- APS Stamp Store customer list (anyone who makes a purchase at the APS Stamp Store )
If HS treats the APS Stamp Store buyers the same as they do typical HS buyers then I would expect to see them receive the same levels of spam.

On the seller side, I assume that all transactional payments will only go straight to the APS. APS would then match the transaction to the APS Stamp Store seller, remove the APS charges, and pay the APS seller the balance. To match the transaction to the specific APS seller, the HS database table will have to have some kind of random seller ID as part to the transaction data sent to APS but the actual lookup would take place only on a APS server. (Assumption being that HS would not be trusted with the lookup on their own servers.)
If my assumptions are correct, then APS Stamp Store sellers should be isolated from HS marketing efforts.

Tough to use HIp for purchases unless a mailing address is provided at which purchased material is received. Of course this could be handled by the APS with a firewall between APS and HIP but that becomes cumbersome produces more work for the APS to undertake while the goal of the APS-Hip venture is to reduce its workload.

Hip must get something out of the venture be it money or customer information which is, at times, even more valuable than money. In any construction some one pays, be it the seller, buyer or both. As to the email spam I offer up a nice movie quote, "If you build it they will come."

Mailing addresses aside, HS knows who clicks on what in its webpages. So if you click on 'Add To Cart', 'Make Offer', or 'Proceed To Checkout' they know you are making a purchase. They know who you are and what you do on their website.
