I've been collecting for about three or four years and love to find surprises in collection lots and kiloware. I'm still learning a lot and am starting up my collecting again now that I've moved and finally am getting settled in.

I mainly focus my personal collection on Japan, Middle east, Asian cultures and history, Islamic themes and "gimmick" stamps. Tho I often will keep stamps that just catch my eyes.

I'm also getting ready to reevaluate my collecton as well as my duplicates so I'll be selling soon which means trying to find information on dealer related things, stamp grading and condition, that kind of stuff.

Hijabit-Homegirl,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ

I was going to do it on ebay since I'll mostly start out with ounce packets and kiloware dips.
