Those are nice looking covers (and stamps) Bee See. Thanks for sharing!
I would think that the Royal shows previously held would have Picture Postage stamps also. I must investigate this at the stamp club / store here sometime.

ccool, I cannot see the pic. It keeps saying connecting to Imageshack but nothing happens after 5-10 seconds. Could you load the pic up to the Stamp Community (here) please? I know you will have to reduce the file size to under 90kb to load here, or in Imageshack maybe if it is under 200kb in size it seems to load OK for me. I am a dinosaur with my older connection speed, I know. Thank you for any effort you make.
Or I can wait til I get to the library and use their super high speed connection and look at it and download it for my files there.
edit: I can see the picture now. Many Thanks ccool ! It is a nice stamp. |

Just received this full envelope in the mail today. Thanks ccool! (Only the stamp and cancel are shown.) Stamp and envelope created by ccool. Is this the first day of issue? For people cutting these off envelopes please keep the cancellation intact and with the stamp. Thank you. |

Hi ! It's not the "real" first day of issue. The history of this sheet are that the upper part of the sheet was a gift to the owner of the compagny. 13 other was cancelled the same day. 1 travel from my house to the compagny office and 1 travel from the post office ofthe town of the compagny, but these 2 cover was cancelled 2 time by Canada Post... It don't look great. I want to remake my 2 cover but of course the date will not be the same that all other. Finally it was left 3 mint stamps, one in my collection of Canada and 2 other. The "hammer ?" for cancellation of "Ancienne-Lorette" are very old, it don't make very nice cancellation but like the compagny are from there I was absolutly make them at this post office. *** I hope that you can enderstand lol Thanks ! |

I got this out of some kiloware from England. I think it is so neat that the Picture Postage stamp is possibly (I do not know for sure) of a lady in the air force or the ladies that helped out the air force. My ignorance of military matters is showing. Wouldn't it be cool to have a stamp made to go along with a new stamp and then get them both on cover cancelled with the same cancel on the first day of issue? It is neat enough just to have one on piece that is related to the other Canada Post issued stamps somehow. (hopefully) edit: Just checked the day of issue of the Snowbirds airplane team issue, it was June 28, 2006, pretty darn close. |

Baby Pictures on Stamps Time! I mean, there are cute stamps and then there are Cute stamps. Part of the Puzzler Collection.I never would have imagined in my wildest dreams when I was younger that when I was older I would be collecting baby pictures on stamps, and paying a good dollar for them too! I must be going through a change of life or something. I suppose I should get my own picture as a baby and make that a stamp too. Nah, don't want to scare everyone. Ahem, now where are all the train stamps? |

Here are some people possibly thinking about making one of the above mentioned people. Nice wedding cake. I am hungry now for some reason. From the Puzzler Collection. This has a double cancel from H4T 1A0 (probably) which is a big Postal sorting station and redistribution center near Montreal airport. It has been used near Christmas Time (Merry Christmas is Joyous Noel in French) and the HOHOHO is a double reference, one to Santa Claus and two to the Canada Post postal code that gets your Santa letters delivered to someone who will actually answer them. Santa Claus North Pole Canada H0H 0H0 using the letter-number-letter, number-letter-number form of Canada's postal code sorting system. It looks like Ho Ho Ho though. Also has a partial rectangular POCON cancel from a local post office. To me it is nice when one of these stamps has either the date or the postal code so I can know when it was used and maybe where also. I have seen some wedding picture Picture Postage stamps that are really nice. Chances are when you get one of these the picture has been taken by a professional or practiced photographer. This is compared to someone like me who has a hard time not taking a picture of my foot or eye-ball. Although that might make a striking stamp also. |

A train stamp, since it is my only one, I thought it OK to stick itin here. From the Puzzler Collection.I need to research this fellow somewhat as I do not know what the letters NORMHC mean, nor Capreol means. Nice shot of a steam locomotive though. I have seen one Picture Postage stamp with a VIA Rail new diesel locomotive on it that was selling on ebay in Europe years ago. It went for a lot of $$ actually. (well, to me anyway, $20 or something.) I've always wanted to make a stamp of a locomotive and then a separate stamp for each car (or wagon to our UK readers) so a collector could make his own train up. I think a fellow is doing something of the sort with Zazzle personalized stamps in the US. I do like Zazzle stamps. But that is a different thread. Update: Capreol is a former town in Ontario, now part of Greater Sudbury, ON. Wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CapreolAnd NORMHC means Northern Ontario Railroad Museum Heritage Centre. A railroad superintendent's house built in 1916. Neat iron work! I want to ring the bell! Link to their non-profit site: http://www.northernontariorailroadmuseum.ca/(neat caboose!) |

Hi ccool, yes I do like trains also. I have tons on Model Railroader magazines and boxes of models lying unmade, waiting for me to have a big garage or basement to have a proper layout. Meanwhile . . . I collect Picture Postage stamps when I can afford them. I haven't started (yet) collecting train stamps, although I do like the hexagon cancels on the Belgium railway parcel post stamps. There are lots of train stamps out there. Here is one the I got from ebay seller melipier in Montreal, Canada. It is on a postcard made of the same picture. He (I think it was him) has made 5 or 6 of these railway stations in Quebec, Post Cards and Picture Postage stamp combinations. I only have one. From the Puzzler Collection. |
