Why should he bother, ebay has never cared. Facebook has never cared, either. And clearly the counterfeit stamps are being officially created with the Chinese government's approval.
Until some people are very publicly prosecuted this won't stop. Stiff sentences if convicted would be the cherry on top but just knowing that you will incur large legal bills should have a chilling effect. Would love to see ebay brought into the mix for turning a blind eye to wire fraud and interstate commerce violations. When ebay gets their cut of the sales they become active participants.
Why would anyone assume that they are coming by ship? A lot of stamps can be sent in a relatively small package. With plenty of methods to choose from. I seriously doubt that they are sent within miles of drugs. That's why they are so common.
I've seen these for sale in my local area on Craigslist. I guess they mail them to the buyer---it says "no local pick up" even though the neighborhood or community name is given. Perhaps they are dropshipped?
However there are 5 sellers now having discounted their price to $39.99 down from 49.99 for 20 rolls of 100 still with free P&H. edit: $0.02563461 each "Forever fake stamp."
