1979 Senior Statesmen And 2020 Statesmen Deluxe Albums

I own a 1979 Senior Statesmen and recently purchased a 2020 Statesmen Deluxe album with 2010s-20s supplements. Should I combine the two of them together or keep them separate?

They both cover the same area, don't they, so how would using both of them work? Use the more comprehensive album. Compare the pages one by one and see which has more spaces for stamps. Use that one.

These are both basic stamp albums for "advanced" beginners without much room for many stamps you'll come across or blank spaces, so you'll often find no space for a good number of stamps you want to mount. The "Deluxe" version will undoubtedly have more room than the other one. And you can always add blank pages for extra stamps.

I'd use the two binders to spread out and hold all the pages you need, and put aside the duplicate pages you will have, again using the ones that seem more comprehensive. Two binders gives you room for adding a lot of blank pages.

If you're not already too committed to this album, give some thought to moving up to a more comprehensive album -- depending on your interest level, of course, and your wallet. At the upper end are the Minkus and Scott worldwide albums -- but they are enormous and expensive, so dream away!

Thanks DrewM. The Senior Statesmen has years across the top of the page. Most pages are half illustrative and half blank, which allows you put stamps within that year range on each page. The Deluxe Statesmen has a bunch of photocopied illustrations with no years but covers newer issues from 1980-2016. I never expect to find a perfect stamp album, but using the two binders together makes sense. I could also include blank pages for duplicate stamps or souvenir sheets. I purchased the newer album to include my Europa collection from 1980 to present. I also purchase the annual US pages. Purchasing the Scott worldwide albums would be too expensive for me.

I would use both but keep them separate. There will be some overlap between the two, but the modern edition as you mention will mostly cover the more recent issues. I would also invest in interleaving and an extra binder or two. Blank/speedrille pages would also be useful for extras/overflow.
