Spanish Airmail Curiosities

I picked up a box lot a couple of weeks ago. It was a really big box lot. Anyway, it had these in it. They seem to be specimens, please correct me if I am wrong about that.







I really like these stamps anyway, so I think I will keep them. Out of curiosity, are the proofs particularly collectible?

I believe that "Muestra" = Speciman. Yes these are collectible, but a smaller group of collectors.

Muestra is indeed the same thing as Specimen. They look a bit scary tbo.

I agree, they do look rather scary. Maybe good for Halloween? Anyway, I just looked the "non-specimen" varieties up in a Scott WW Catalog, which are Scott C18-C20 (and CE1 for Airmail SD) ... and are described as the "Goya Issue" of June 15, 1930 with the terms "Fantasy of Flight" and for the vertical oriented ones "Asmodeus and Cleofas" (Greek Mythology, I assume.) Look it up on the internet and "Asmodeus" is defined as "the devil (or demon) upon two sticks."
