I have recently been trying to add some items to my Cinderella collection, and more specifically to my Philatelic Exhibition Collection.
I have been browsing various auctions and other websites and have been quite shocked by some of the prices. The bidding on
ebay has been particularly fierce.
Here are a few examples and then I have a question.
This lot has a catalogue/Market value of £15. I gave up bidding and you can see why !
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWAX:ITA similar sheet signed by Pietro Annigoni which has a value of £25, sold for about £85 [can't find link].
The following set of sheets has a catalogue price of £20 but I have never seen them sell for this. Usually they go for between £10-£15.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWAX:ITThere is another lot of these sheets on
ebay now with a BIN price of over £47 !

The lot shown in the link below has a value of £7 and most often sells for that price or bit over.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWAX:ITI recently purchased one of the three shown in this link whilst I was in London. It cost me 50p.
I wanted to add the set but shock,Horror !

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWAX:ITAnd it goes on and on. True, I have picked up a few bargains, but mostly the bidding goes on and on.
Question.
Has anyone noticed any similar trends while trying to add to their collections ?
What other material has gone on a price hike ??
Please post here if you have problems adding to your collection.
