Quote: Am I paranoid? Probably not, XNBer, but if Canada Post wanted to make serious money, the errors would be on the higher values like the $10 whale. I Picked up my press sheet and full sheets of all the values at the Aldergrove Shopper's Drugmart P.O. near where I work. The lady in charge there will pre-order anything for customers. She knows plenty about stamps, her father is a serious collector. Everthing comes in on the first day. |

Thanks BeeSee.
On a related subject:I got my whale Press Sheet today.
I have been getting the press sheets for a couple of years from Antigonish; but, this is the first one I've opened and looked at it.
After all, it cost enough....I couldn't resist.
I was surprised to see it was perfed.
That will teach me to ignore the lessons the teachers used to tell us about the word "assume".
So, with that (assuming danger) in mind, I "guess" the beneficial insects press sheet will have the Lowe-Martin variety.
BTW, One of our club members found other varieties on the first series 3 cent lacewing which include red spots, white spots and darker purple shading.
I just wait for somebody else to find that kind of stuff on any stamp.
I don't have the patience to distinguish between fly-spots and pepper.

Has anyone else noticed that on the sheet stamps the paper on the gum side is white whereas on the Souvenir Sheets it is greenish blue? Sorry, please disregard, this has already been mentioned in the very first post. Silly me. |

Nope, not hoarding, sorry. You are just making sure you collect all the loose, stray little bugs on the edges. I don't let mine out free like that. I keep them in a nice little cardboard envelope / home / hive that the post office mistress gave me from her incoming mails. That way they don't bug me. |

What is bugging me is I can't find the 10c reprint (with the thinner black margin). Plenty of 3's and 5's though. |

I picked up a sheet of the 25c reprint, on paper with white gum (the original had greenish). On my new example, the background shade is more brown than green, as on all the original printings I have. I wonder if all reprints are like this or is it just a variance throughout the printing. Original at top, reprint below |
