You may be a stamp collector if...

You just spent $2000 putting in a new attic for the duplicates,
then realise it may be too hot in summer, so you move up there
so the stamps can stay below in the cool.

You might be a stamp collector if fine, very fine and extra fine refers to a piece of paper instead of your girlfriend.

How about ...

... it takes you 15 minutes to open the mail and pay the bills, but another hour to inspect the covers and clip the stamps.

You may be a stamp collector if you compare all your other discretionary purchases with what stamps you might be able to acquire.

i apply the rule all the time...a skipped coffee and donut with sprinkles buys a nice stamp I need to fill a space !!I am not saying you can not have both if you wish..i grew up in a different time...mommy and daddy gave you a place to sleep and meals...you got to sports practice on your own and whatever you wished for was on you !

So very true! And you know that years from now you'll still have your stamps but won't even remember what that discretionary purchase was.

You know you may be a stamp collector when ALL your discretionary purchases are stamps!

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
I collect for enjoyment, not investment.
