Here is an image of an airmail stamp depicting boxing (aka "the sweet science"), engraved and printed by the American Bank Note Company, and issued by Ecuador on March 15, 1939 as one stamp in a set of five commemorating Ecuadorian victories in the 1938 South American Olympic Games held in La Paz, Bolivia, Scott No. C68, SG No. 592. - nethryk |

fifia - Yeah. Sometimes the SCF uploader acts a bit crazy and one gets impatient only to wind up having to delete duplicate posts. En Garde! Fencing ( l'escrime), designed by French graphic artist André Jacquemin (1904-1992), engraved by Charles Mazelin, scanned by Robert Pot, and issued by France on November 28, 1953 to honor four time World Champion French foil fencer Christian d'Oriola (1928-2007) for winning the individual gold medal at the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki, Finland, Scott No. 702, Y&T No. 962. - nethryk |

Part of a handsome set from Nicaragua celebrating the 10th World Series of Amateur Baseball. These are four of a set of 13, two of which actually show baseball/softball. |

rod222 & fifia - Thanks. I have found that this and other online stamp collector forums are wonderful places to share information and to learn more about our great hobby. Here is an image of a semi-postal stamp depicting an age-old sport, arm-wrestling (Inuit style), designed by Greenlandic artist Jens Christian Rosing after a drawing (c. 1730) by Hans Poulsen Egede (1686-1758), a Norwegian-Danish Lutheran missionary to Greenland, engraved by Czeslaw Slania, and issued by Greenland on April 8, 1976 to benefit the Greenland Athletic Union, Scott No. B7, Facit No. 97. - nethryk |

Here is a sharp shooting stamp. I think in the USA one would call it 'Rod and Gun Club' |

Thought I'd post this to the sports stamps thread. A lot that I bid on at a local stamp auction came with an unopened topical "stamp collecting kit" titled "Sports Around the World". The US Postal Service used to sell these topical kits right in the post offices. This one is from the early 80s. I think it's kind of interesting because it's unopened. |
