Glíma is the Icelandic national style of folk wrestling. There are four points that differentiate it from other forms of wrestling: 1. The opponents must always stand erect. 2. The opponents step clockwise around each other. 3. It is not permitted to fall down on your opponent or to push him down in a forceful manner. 4. The opponents are supposed to look across each other's shoulders as much as possible because it is considered proper to wrestle by touch and feel rather than sight. Here is an image of a stamp depict a pair of glima wrestlers and an admiring crowd, designed by S. Jónsson, engraved and printed by Thomas De La Rue & Co, Ltd., and issued by Iceland on August 9, 1955, Scott No. 287, Facit No. 332.
