The first is "scarlet", the second "carmine" (fiscally used)

Colours of this stamp exist in

bright scarlet
vermilion
pale rose-red
carmine-red
scarlet-vermilion

Your exeter cancelled example, looks like one of mine
it has that "Q" look about the "O" in one penny
I have never seen a genuine SG357ab, so I have
nothing to compare it with.
