Here's a page I worked on this afternoon. The stamps are from our friend DJD's store on Wensy



Granted, it's not a set of Jubilees or anything really fancy, but I have to say, I had a nice afternoon and I'm pleased with the results.

Hi KirkS: Are these hinged or in clear mounts? A very nice looking set!

Nice page. They look really good when all together. I like the booklet stamps below, haven't sen that before. Haven't seen many KGV pages but still.

The 8c red orange looks more pinkish red on this scan. Is that a colour variation or is the sxan off a tad?

They're clear Schaufix mounts as found in the Schaubek Hingeless album. A few years ago, I got a great deal on the albums --- hingeless pages for 1851 - 2008; three binders with slipcases --- all for $200. Like all hingeless pages, they're thick and heavy, so I had to purchase a 4th binder/slipcase, bringing my total investment to around $250. Prior to finding such a deal, I had not planned to collect Canada, but how could I pass up such a deal...

By the way, I would not recommend the Schaubek albums for a beginner. There are no Scott numbers and the "shorthand" took me a while to understand. For example, here are a few symbols and their meaning:

~      perfed
-      imperf
-/11   horizontal imperf, vertical perf 11
11/-   horizontal perf 11, vertical imperf
(x)    overprint

The varieties can be daunting to say the least; e.g.

T. 1927 -/8 (x)3d

means Type of 1927 perfed 8 vertically, overprinted 3d

Very nice! Now the booklet panes. Please excuse my ignorance of Canadian stamps but is the 5 cent violet flat plate and rotary printing easily distinguishable?

Canada Scott #E4, a used one I touched a year ago. Gone now.
This is the expensive one when mint. E5 looks roughly the same but just says CENTS instead of Twenty Cents along the bottom.



That would put a nice finishing touch indeed on the page.

and those hingless pages look Great! I though they were hinged the mounts are so clear.

Is my screen wacko or does that 8c Red Orange look kind of more Red than Orange to everyone else? In my catalog it looks more orange.
