Railway Post Offices (R.p.o.) In Canada

I wish the post offices did this today somehow, mark every stop the mail piece has on it's way through the systems or mail stream.

Purchased shown postcard for the picture of a Dutch girl holding flowers; however, as a bonus the address side of the postcard came with a nice 1905 Winnipeg & Yorkton RPO cancel. Enjoyed reading the original post and all of the replies.

Uplands was a Royal Canadian Air Force Base (RCAF)

The postmark may be Uplands MPO ? Military Post Office ?

Rod: my bet is on "MPO". A bit of a coincidence - the journal link that you provide also shows a map pertaining to the Winnipeg-Hartney railway route that I mention above.

Yellow and black were for a "digital" album I was beginning, I have left that for hard copy.

Boy, do I have a lot of catching up to do. As stated earlier by cynical, this is a M.P.O. (Military Post Office) and it was an air station. The cancellation was used from May 1, 1941 to June 8, 1945. It re-opened as an R.C.A.F. station and was used from August 9, 1945 to March 19, 1947. Hope this helps?

Here's one. This cover sent in March 1869 from Marshville (now Wainfleet) Ont to Fonthill, a distance of about 14 miles, travelled part of the way on the Welland Rail Road. The railway was built by local businessman William Hamilton Merritt to support his Welland Canal, which the railway roughly paralleled.
The cancel on the back (right) reads DOWN which means down stream or north, the waterway running south to north.
