The top one is Yugoslavia
The missing Poland I do not have,
but designed by "Gosik", a set by Gosik
appeared in 1996, so I would check your cat
for that date.

Now I know I need a rest. I didn't even see Jugoslavia on that stamp (ouch)--it was stuck in with my stack of Poland stamps. My bad. Thanks for the tip on 1996, will check catalog for that.

Poniatowski, 1763-1813, is thoroughly written up in Wikipedia:

rod222,
I think I have one of those too somewhere in my boxes.. It's somekind of fund raising stamp. It is not a postage stamp, that's for sure. I remember reading an article about it I can't remember where.

Thanks all.

Praha, it reminds me of those Russian Generals Cinderellas,
similar dates too. I'll have a poke around in my Russia Cindies.

I found it in a Romanian collection, I see no direct ref there.
(I also found a Portuguese India revenue :) so probably
in the previous owners "too hard" basket.

TIMBRES-------Those private issue labels with the overprint values look like they were overprinted during the German occupation because their new value is in Marks ?

floortrader
Yes it was during German occupation but I think the overprint is for the Polish Marka made on the model of the German Mark.
