Here are images of the four airmail stamps in a Olympics set designed and engraved by Pierre Béquet, and issued by Dahomey (now Benin) on November 28, 1968 to publicize the Summer Games in Mexico City, Scott Nos. C85-C88.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting two athletes, designed by Czech artist Radomír Kolár (1924-1993), combined engraved by Miloš Ondrácek and photogravure, and issued by Czech Republic on February 2, 1994 to publicize the 17th Winter Olympic Games, held in Lillehammer, Norway, Scott No. 2915.

XXIX Olympic Games in Beijing FDC from Singapore. The stamps on the cover feature the sports of table tennis, sailing, badminton and skit shooting.

Here are images of the three airmail stamps in a set honoring gold medal winners at the 1956 Summer Olympics, held in Melbourne, Australia (Note: the equestrian events for this Olympics were held five months earlier in Stockholm, Sweden), combined engraved and lithography (national flags), printed by Waterlow & Sons, Ltd., and issued by Dominican Republic on November 12, 1957, Scott Nos. C103-05.

Hans Günter Winkler (1926- ), German show jumping rider, and the only show jumper to win 5 Olympic gold medals and 7 total Olympic medals, shown competing in an equestrian event.


Alfred Oerter, Jr. (1936-2007) American athlete, and a four-time Olympic Champion in the discus throw event.


Shirley Barbara Strickland AO, MBE (1925-2004), Australian runner who won more Olympic medals than any other Australian in running sports, shown competing in the 80 meters hurdles event.

Here are images of the five semi-postal (charity) stamps in a set designed and engraved (except as noted) by Jacques Combet, and issued by France on January 27, 1968 to publicize the 10th Winter Olympic Games, held in Grenoble, Scott Nos. B411-15, Y&T Nos. 1543-47. The design on each of these stamps includes the official emblem of the Games.
