Here are images of the four stamps in a set depicting athletes (soccer player, boxer, runner, and hurdler) and stadiums, designed and engraved by French artist Albert Decaris (1901-1988), and issued by Mali on June 27, 1964 to publicize the 1964 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, Scott Nos. 61-64.

Here are images of the two stamps in a set depicting stylized athletes (runners & jumpers, and wrestlers), designed after artwork by Diego Rivera, printed by photogravure, and issued by Mexico on October 15, 1968 to publicize the Games of the 19th Olympiad, held in Mexico City, Scott Nos. 974 & 975.

Alojz Szokol (1871-1932) was a Slovak athlete who represented Hungary and competed in six events in the first modern Olympic Games, held in Athens in 1896. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Szokol running, designed by Dušan Nágel, combined engraved by František Horniak and photogravure, and issued by Slovakia on February 15, 1996 to commemorate the centenary of the Olympic Games, Scott No. 241, plus an iamge of a photo of Alojz Szokol leaping over a hurdle. Note: The inscription on the stamp honors Alojz Szokol for finishing in 3rd place in the 100 meter race at the 1896 Olympics.

Here are images of the four engraved stamps in a set depicting athletes, respectively: Ski jumper, figure skating pair, downhill skier, and ice hockey goalie (helmeted, but without a face mask!), and issued by Yugoslavia on February 5, 1968 to publicize the 10th Winter Olympic Games, held in Grenoble, France, Scott Nos. 900-03.

Here are images of the four stamps in a set depicting athletes in various winter sports, respectively: Figure skating, ski jump, ice hockey, and women's luge (sled), designed by Ivan Strnad (1926-2005), engraved by, respectively: Josef Hercík, Miloš Ondrácek, Ladislav Jirka, and Jindra Schmidt, and issued by Czechoslovakia on to publicize the 11th Winter Games, held in Sapporo, Japan, in 1972, Scott Nos. 1796-99. I especially like the way these stamp designs convey athletic skill and speed.

In 1992, in Barcelona, we held the Games of the XXVth Olympiad.
Stamps, issued to mark the opening ceremony, showing the main venues os the Games: Estadi Olímpic de Montjuďc (Montjuďc's Olympic Stadium), The Palau Sant Jordi (St. George's Palace) and the Universitat de l'Esport (Sport's University).
