On a relative basis one doesn't find very many socked on the nose Canadian cancels. Here is one of mine - the 1967 15c Bylot Island (Canada Scott#463) with an Englehart, Ontario, cancel.

I didn't feel like going through all 29 pages of this thread, so I'll post this one from Atlantic City, NJ ... July 7, 1943 ... if I posted it before, I apologize:

While this isn't really a SOTN cancel, it is a rather curious modern-day handstamp with an oval cut out that almost perfectly highlights the "Old Glory" text in these definitives. Was this just an odd case of overinking or did the postal clerk cut out a portion of an old handstamp that would have created such an effect?

I showcased this recently on another website, but it suites well here too:

US Scott #3869

If I were to start collecting the world all over again, I might consider focusing just on SOTN specimens.

I do try to get SON cancels for my US collection. For the machine cancel period this can be quite challenging. For the spray cancels, well, there is no cds. Not sure how to handle that.

I have this whole set and a few have these S.O.T.N. C.D.S.'s. Sort of neat I suppose. Most are in much better condition though.

This thread could use a bump. Here are a couple Danzig postmarks from 1937, both related to airmail:

This one is Danzig Ohra:

Not the clearest, and not as socked as many, but I don't have very many of the Ohra postmarks, and it loosely fits with the above strike, so...

Casablanca, French Morocco:

This seems to be a French entry mark, struck pretty well on a 40c Emperor Napoleon:

I'm going to start a separate topic to ask if anyone knows of a resource for French entry marks (or a different opinion on what this is).
