Quote: Cover? must be another forum member. I hope to see it. Nope, it was you, I mentioned you and the cover in my 7/17/2015 post. Here's a link to that post. https://goscf.com/t/11887&whichpage=121#380943I also posted that cover and the Scotia Jul 20 1995 cover on 3/9/2015, but not in this thread. Maybe in US Covers? I'll give it a look. I did post both of these Scotia covers on 3/9/2015 and 3/10/2015 (in US Covers), however you did not. We talked about the Scotia covers somewhere else. Could you search your previously posted image files for Scotia Apr 6 1896? I know that you showed it to me. |

Quote: I forgot about those covers I didn't, pretty difficult for me to forget Scotia's only semi-fancy postmark, a large double ring (33.5mm 31.5mm) duplexed with a solid star. But, then I'm fixated on anything Humboldt or Mendocino. Good morning everyone else. Six for today. Fort Bragg, this office was opened three times; Feb 15,1858 -- Jun 30,1858, Jan 15,1861-- Jun 9,1862, and Nov 11, 1885--open. This cover mailed from San Francisco in May of 1863 arrived 11 months after the Fort Bragg PO closed the last time. The fort kept a small sailboat for supply runs to Mendocino, which had an open Post Office. This cover contains a May 6th reply and a May 12 reply, so there was another cover. Posted 5/13/2015 Point Arena, Ukiah, Arcata, Eureka & San Fran. RPO, and Benbow, |

Good morning. Two for May 14 and two for the 14th. Westport, and Point Arena, posted on 5/15/2015. These two in-coming all-over Fischbeck & Gloontz advertising covers sent to Mendocino storekeeper/Wells Fargo agent Eugene Brown on the 14, 1887 have RPO CDSs, but are both missing the month. I'll squeeze them in here. San Fran. & L, ANG RPO, it is missing a stamp, but I don't see from where. San Fran. & Solano RPO, Looks like both were addressed by the same hand. Edit to add missing stamp comment. |

Good morning. Five for today. Cahato, one of two Postal Cards sent from Cahato, both postmarked with Cahato's scarce oval, barely visible under San Francisco's un-recorded carrier CDS. This is a late use of Men-320. California Town Postmarks 1850 - 1935records a usage span of Jan 4, 1872 to Mar 1 1873. This is May 15 1878, and I have May 18th 1878 as well. I'll show both sides. First, a look at Cahato's postmarks; Ukiah & San Fran. RPO, Ukiah, Laytonville, and Redwood Valley. |

Good morning, six for today. Smith River is in Del Norte County, and in my collection because of the Philadelphia receiver on the back, which I posted on Nov 14, 2025 for a better look at the receiver here; https://goscf.com/t/11887&whichpage=141#841545We needed that better look because of the Martin's Ferry cover I posted the day before, here, scroll down one cover. https://goscf.com/t/11887&whichpage=141#841506 Both the Martin's Ferry and the Smith River cover were Registered and sent to the same addressee and have the same receiver on back. Smith River, Albion, posted on 6/14/2021 Willits & San Fran. RPO, Alton, Korbel, Postage Due! and Blocksburg, Edit: added Postage Due. |

Good morning, two for today. Cahato, this is the 2nd of two postal cards with a barely visible Cahato oval (Men-320) under an un-recorded San Francisco carrier that I posted on the 15th. Even less visible on this card. Post is here, or scroll up three days. https://goscf.com/t/11887&whichpage=158#851034 and Pepperwood, posted 5/18/2015 but cropped. |
