Just three this morning. Willits, not too sure about this cover. Jim Forte's site tells me that there were three towns called Willits in 1884. Little Lake in California's Mendocino County changed its name to Willits on Apr 7, 1874, and is still open. Iowa's Van Buren County had a Willits post office from 1872 to 1895, and the third Willits was in Monroe County, Michigan from 1880 to 1887. A manuscript postmark on U O54, Elinor, and Arcata & Dyerville RPO, Short Run. After July 1915 Arcata & Dyerville became Eureka & San Fran. Northwestern Pacific connected several logging rail roads to reach Trinidad. Arcata & Dyerville, Ca., 26 miles Short Run Aug 6 1915--Jun 3 1921 Arcata to Trinidad. Yep, this is scarce! Thanks Rick. |

Good morning, four today. Eureka, the fourth of six 1860's covers for May. Dyerville, a personal favorite, just a good-looking cover. Fortuna, quite the postcard score here. View side shows Fernbridge, called the Queen of bridges (when completed on Nov 8,1911) and is still the longest functional poured concrete bridge in operation in the world. California Town Postmarks 1850 - 1935 numbered this CDS as Hum-2450 and records usage from Sep 18,1916 to Jun 18, 1920. This one is about 4 months earlier. Posted 7/20/2020 (both sides) and Cummings. |

Good morning, three for today again. Ukiah, I'm guessing that San Francisco applied the blue 7048 as the Emporium's post office box number? Orleans, Jury summons, both sides. and Redwine. |

Good morning, one for yesterday. Willits & San Fran. RPO, actually for yesterday. Typed May 10 instead of May 9. Tomorrow I'll show the second of first two NWP-985-T1s that were my first two RPOs, got them from Jim Forte at same time. Both NWP-985-T1s, (the spelling error) showed the first on Apr 18th, here: https://goscf.com/t/11887&whichpage=156#849759Yesterday, |

Started collecting Mendocino County in 1994-5, added Humboldt County in 2002. I kinda thought we'd see your Scotia Apr 6 1896 cover in April. Still have it? I'll ask you again between Jul 17 and Jul 20th. |
