A different one for the 16th. I don't think that there has been a cover from Ireland in this thread up to today. can anyone tell me anything about the location of the cancel?

I suspect the cancel is Dublin, based on Wiki's definition of the words used in the cancellation:

Quote:
Dublin, Irish: Baile Átha Cliath, is the capital and largest city of Ireland.

For August 19th, George VI from Fiji.

And a Booklet Pane with an FDC Cancel. Was it just the pane that was issued on that date or the stamp design?

Forgot to post this one for August 17th (although the event depicted extended from August 17-20, 1950). Technically not a stamp, but a meter imprint, I know, but I've always been intrigued by an organization such as the Society of Philatelic Americans having embraced the use of a postage meter for a philatelic related cover!

I have to apologize once again, for being late. Here are four for August that I missed:

And to ensure that I'm not late again (at least for August), here is what I have for the rest of the month:

You know what might be cool? Take a philately-themed wall calendar (from a leap year!) -- the kind with squares for the days below and a picture above -- and mount a SON stamp onto each appropriate square. What a fun "album" that might be.

Edit: Like this one -- http://mcg.ee/ebsc -- from next year.

A very precise, typed cover from 1943. Nothing special except for the composition unless there is significance to the date itself.

As to the "nothing special" cover posted by backroads, note that the cover was dated 1943 and the company to whom the cover was addressed (Robison and Smith Laundry) is still in business today ... and at the same address ... some 68 years later ... which is an accomplishment in itself! In fact, looking at their logo in the link below suggests that they have been in business since 1915:
