I haven't been participating in this thread much this month, as I don't have all that many December postmarks, but in order to make my contribution, let me back up to December 17th and post this one. Unusual (to me, anyway) because Stamps.com only was approved by the USPS as a provider in 1999, so this 2002 example is a relatively early usage of their indicia on a piece of business mail:

...and to fast forward to today, December 20th, here's an old duplex cancel from 1937:

Probably two Christmas Cards mailed from France to the same family on the same date in 1959. I wonder if they arrived in time for Christmas? They certainly would not today.

Here is a Special Delivery cover from Paris, France to Chicago, Illinois sent on December 23rd. The addressee was a psychiatrist and medical director of Riveredge Hospital in Forest Park, Ill which explains how he could afford the Michigan Avenue address (see http://sixnorthmichigan.com/ for a short video of his view ):

And a Very Merry Christmas to Everyone.

Here is my own answer to a Christmas Day Postmark.

Posted on Christmas Eve in Southport (location unknown)and received in Doncaster, Yorkshire, as shown by the backstamp, on December 25. Whether it was actually delivered to the recipient on Christmas Day is unknown as well.

Christmas on the train.

Posted Dec 24, 1895 from Hebron, NS to New York, NY, traveling by train on Christmas Day to Digby, then by steamship to Saint John NB across the bay on the 26th, and then to New York by ship, arriving on Dec 30. Today, at this time of year, the journey would take twice as long.

A great cover Puzzler. It is nice to see a New York City Examiner's Mark on cover and know a little about it ( https://goscf.com/t/16247#16247 )

I'm going to get a jump on December 25th by posting the reverse of the Paris, France Special Delivery cover I posted for the 23rd -- it was received in Chicago on Christmas Day.
