Here's a cover I've posted before. Canceled on this day in 1929. Interesting discussion when first posted. https://goscf.com/t/23864&SearchTerms=WestinghouseSince then I've also found that the recipient John A. (Audley) Knox of Millbank Ont. passed away in 2009 at the age of 102. He ran an electrical business. Turns out his wife Cilica (died 2000) was the postmistress of Millbank operating out of their home until 1988 when the post office was moved to a local country market. |

I wonder if he was travelling on business and writing to his wife. Or maybe he is John, Jr. writing to his mother? I think about these kinds of things when I'm looking a my covers. |

Jun 9, New York, New York wt1, you are right on target about W. Strohmeiers' address--- here's one to Mrs W. Strohmeier of 1324 8th St SE Minneapolis, the same address you found for him. This address is about three miles from where my mother grew up so I wonder if Mr. Strohmeier was a friend of my grandfather's. Stollwerck is still making chocolate in Europe. Why do my images turn out so many different sizes? |

June 12 A simple cover postmarked on this day in 1949. Sent to the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota FLA. The school was founded in 1931 by circus magnate John Ringling. A previous owner of this cover wrote the catalogue number nice and large in pen. Just so you couldn't overlook it. |

A cover with this stamp (Scott 1265) was posted last year by bfranton but the cachet on this one is different so I thought I'd post it. Today marks the 797th anniversary of the Magna Carta. |
