Here's a rather tattered one for September 24. From London Ont. to Kansas City Mo. sporting a 1932 Ottawa Conference Issue SC#192.

Sept 25 1945.
Letter sent to US soldier (bomber squad actually). Rerouted from San Francisco to APO 337, which I think may have been in Okinawa.
The note 'Iwo Jima Stamp' on the cover refers to a SC#929 which has since adhered itself to the letter.
"P.S. In case your are interested, am sending you 1 of the new stamps"

The reverse also sports a nice Air Mail label.

The two page letter talks of parties and soldiers returning home with campaign stripes, but also mentions a mutual acquaintance,

"...Johnny Long was killed August 8. He had a daughter 3 and a baby 6 weeks old. But August 8 was so close to the end. That is a tragedy I think, if you want to isolate stories out of the whole mess - the whole thing was a tragedy."

Kind of puts it all in perspective, doesn't it?
