The top picture is from the front of a Christmas card from Shepherd-Barron and has got information printed inside about the first 4d stamp, a greeting and the company address.

Very nice group. These types of engraving houses are almost a thing of the past. The workmanship in producing fine engravings is becoming a lost art. The price of progress. Thanks for sharing the images and welcome to the forum.

The image of that spiffing gentleman, (first postcard)
is one of Jean Ferdinand Joubert,
refugee from Napoleanic france who engraved the die for
the first de la rue surface printed stamp
the 4d carmine of 1855.
I love that card.

Here is an essay of his with pencilled notes
