Here is a similar design that Guatemala had printed by De La Rue, Waterlow and Sons and Perkins Bacon & Co.

Londonbus, cash was always tight for the Guatemala post ..i guess they went with the best bid..the earliest issues were printed by the French mint..then Edward Matthews, London ..the Columbian bank note company,A.Chaix and Co. Paris,and the American Bank Note co.

Looks like Perkins Bacon & Co had a bright idea. Reduce costs by reducing the size of the stamp.
