Can anyone read the placename on this 1919 cancel? The third letter doesn't look right to me. So it seems to read 'HA[X]ANTOR' ... which doesn't remind me of any Swedish placename I know of.

Thanks, Nigelc, Cjd (though that makes it the oddest looking 'K' I've seen)!

If I'm not sure of a place name I bring up google maps and start typing in what I think it is and nine times out of ten it will work out. The added bonus is that up comes a map or satellite photo showing where the community actually is.

cynical, usually you can do that - and I do - but in this case the third letter had me stumped!

Jimjam: two out of three ain't bad! I know the singer Meatloaf had a line like that in a song! I just can't remember the exact words

Can't say if this really helped, but it's good practice for me.

Very nice way of making it easy to see a cancel.

It still doesn't make the backwards 'N' look like a 'K' though!
