Welcome Vlado. Boy, you guys certainly know how to confuse us. So Srpska is a "political entity"? does it have a floating geographic area? I tried listening to the pronounciation on wiki, is the last "a" in Srpska, pronounced? or silent? Thanks hope you enjoy your stay. |

Yes, there are three stamp issuing areas in Bosnia Herzegovina: Srpska (Serbian areas), Muslim federal government, and the Croatian administration in half of the municipality/city of Mostar. |

Rod, Both of those cities are indeed part of Srpska, however the obvious age of the pieces would indicate that they were issued well prior to the division, and would thus be technically considered as Yugoslavian, having been issued by Jugoslavija PTT. The design (and perforations) of the top one would be consistent with Kingdom issues, prior to WWII. The font on the second one would place it somewhere in the 60's to early 80's time frame. Over the years, there were changes made to the font/size of the "R", as well as changes to "No." (script font as your is, serif block font, sans serif block font; No. and Nr.; some with the underscore, some without.) |

Brilliant Kuhli. It's what I thought, but couldn't put it into words as you have. I'll copy your text to my album page for Yugolsavia Registration. Many Thanks. PS You also answered my curiosity on the "R" Font.

"...So Srpska is a "political entity"? does it have a floating geographic area?..." -------------------------------------------------- ....very simple, Bosnia have three Republics (same as USA that have 52 "states"), each of this three, for "own" people: Bosnia (capital Sarajevo, Muslim part), Herceg Bosnia (capital Mostar, for Croat part), Republika Srpska (capital Banja Luka, for Serbian part).
....really simple, isn't? ------------------------------------------------------ So is it recognized as a real stamp producing entity or not?
Each have own postage stamps, recognized by UPU, legal for use in and out of country.
