I couldn't find this one on the Gibbons online catalogue. Can anyone identify and provide a CV for this stamp?

My thanks to anyone who can be bothered looking it up!

Hi, It's a Vichy government issue for the French Indian Settlements, SG V126 from 1944.

This was issued in France but not in India which had declared for the Free French. I'm afraid it's priced at the minimum value of 10p.

Thanks, nigelc.

I wonder, from what you wrote, whether it's known in used condition at all.

I agree it was probably never used anywhere. It's only priced by SG as mint.

They could only exist 'used' if they were CTO in Vichy, or perhaps cancelled by favour after the War. (Though you'd think it would be rather brave, or foolhardy, to try asking for that.)

By the time of WWII, the French establishments in India were just a pimple on the Indian bottom. If they had tried to declare for Vichy, the British could have restored order with a couple of platoons of the Indian Army.
