Indeed from Georgia, a country on the Black Sea, bordering Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey. The stamp is from a set of 8, depicting Theatres issued in 2005. It is SG477.
Thanks Nigel, I thought that's what it was. Since cataloguing a lot of Russia lately I am beginning to read a little from their alphabet, matching it to the catalogue. I still have trouble with the "epic poems" set though.
IIRC Nigel, the collector who posted this only collected "Ariane on stamps". Quite a specialised field.
There are bogus Europa stamps in this region from Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Transnistira(between Moldavia and Russia). These are all unrecognized countries. On the sheet of Abkhazia Europa 1996 the picture show a Ariane rocket when the theme for Europa 1996 was Famous Women. The company who print those cinderellas didn't even follow the official Europa theme for 1996
