Police and firefighter from the set of 5 first responders set issued by Canada Post in 2018. The others were Paramedics, SAR- Search and Rescue, and Canadian Armed Forces. My dad was a firefighter for 1 month short of 40 years. No Scott air paks in early days.   |

This February 28, 2003 self-adhesive booklet stamp of Ireland (Sc. #1462) is from a set of six issued for St Patrick's Day. This 57c stamp depicts New York City police officers marching past St. Patrick's Cathedral in the annual St. Patrick's Day parade. One officer is carrying an Irish flag. From Wikipedia, "But the largest wave of Irish immigrants came after the Great Famine in 1845....In fact, New York once had more Irishmen than Dublin itself...The Irish in New York developed a particular reputation for joining the New York City Police Department as well as the New York Fire Department."  |

On August 15, 1988 Finland issued this stamp (Facit #1058) commemorating the 150th anniversary of the founding of the first Finnish fire brigade in Turku. Four million of the five color, offset printed stamps were produced by Frenckell Printing House, Ltd.  |

This 50c airmail value (Sc #C78) from Panama's 1942 "Local Motifs" pictorial series depicts a "Fire Station Headquarters". Stamp design was engraved by someone working for the American Bank Note Company. Even under 10x magnification, it has clear details.  |
