Is there a different catalogue number/CV for the variety of the stamp printed on coloured paper? This is the regular issue:

This is the yellow paper variety:

As far as I can establish, this variety is much less common. If it is common, I'd like to know where I can get the whole set on yellow paper, because I think it's very beautiful indeed!

All assistance greatly appreciated!

I assume you've ruled out basic toning/tropicalization? Scott Classic doesn't list a paper variety, but it might not be sufficiently specialized.

I'm starting to think it must be a case of tropicalization. The colouring is very, very even so my impression was that the result was intentional. I always assumed that tropicalization led to an uneven appearance with visible spots here and there. Perhaps this is not always the case.

Also, the 9c stamp in the same series was printed on yellow paper and it has a lemon-ish look. If this stamp was printed on yellow paper it would presumably have been the same paper as that used to print the 9c and would be the same lemon colour.

So tropicalization it must be!

I have one of the top stamp as well, and am wondering if anyone knows the Scott Number for it?

There are some really nice overprints tucked away in France-Offices in China.

Jimjam,

Is it yellow ? It looks pink on my screen and similar to the colour of the paper of the 10c value.

Just a thought.
